Means To Me

This year has been a difficult one for all of us, full of new experiences and challenges. As we draw close to Christmas and a New Year, we want to reflect on what’s helped us to get through and celebrate the good things in life!

“Means to Me” is our wrap-up campaign of the year where we're asking you to think about something that means a lot to you. Be it a holiday, a person who's inspired you or something that you want to bring attention to. You could also talk about topics like, “Christmas means eating lots of good food” or perhaps “Key workers mean a symbol of strength to me”. It can be anything you want!

Tell us your "Means to me" story in a 30 second video clip so, we can spread some holiday and winter cheer! Whatever your story, make sure to film in landscape and send them to studunion@southwales.ac.uk by the 16th December. At the end of term, we will release a compilation of your stories on our social channels reminding everyone of the positivity in the world.

In the spirit of the end of the year and new beginnings, we’re also encouraging you to write to your future self! You can tell them all about this rollercoaster of a year, you can share your hopes and dreams, or just share a message that you’d like to leave your future self!

In addition to all of the above, Welfare Officer Kay will teach you to make Christmas Cookies for this month's #CookWithKay. The USWSU Book Club will be featuring its Members all-time favourite reads and yes the photography competition will also run through December to find USW's most creative photographers! Kay is also hosting, "Christmas with Kay" in collaboration with USW Chaplaincy for everyone stuck in halls on Christmas eve. Remember to follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to stay up to date with the "Means to me" campaign.
