The University of South Wales Students’ Union is a charitable company which is governed by a Board of Trustees that provides oversight to the finances and sets the organisations strategic direction in line with the organisation's governing documents. Here you can find out more about who our trustee board is, our governing documents and other core policies relevant to how we run.

Our Structure

As well as having a Board of Trustees which has oversight of our entire organisation, we have a dedicated team of staff who ensure the smooth running of Union operations. As well as this, are for students, led by students, meaning that we have democratic structures in place to ensure the student voice is at the heart of the work we do.

Operationally the organisation is led by a Chief Executive Officer who oversees the Union and is responsible for its management and direction. The student voice is supported through our Student Council and Executive Officers who also sit on the Trustee Board, providing a clear link for the student voice at all levels. You can find out more about our democratic structures under student voice.

Our Trustee Board

Our Trustee Board is made up of Student Officers, current students, University staff and external individuals to ensure it has the expertise needed to support the organisation.

Governing Documents

The Union has two core governing documents which sets out what we do and how we do this. Our Articles of Association contain the Union’s objects and its powers to achieve this. Our Byelaws established how we run as an organisation.
